2019 Scholarship Information


Each year the Iowa National Guard Officers Auxiliary has the opportunity to award deserving students and a spouse of a guardsman with a scholarship.

2019 Scholarship applications are now available:

Deadline for Student and Spouse Application is February 1st, 2019

3 Different Scholarships - please read to see which one applies to you:

  • Student Scholarship open to dependents of an Iowa National Guard Member (current or retired).  Student Applicants need to be a graduating senior or incoming freshman, and pursuing a 2 or 4 year degree.

 

  • Spouse Scholarship open to current spouse of a Iowa National Guard Member (current or retired).  May be used for any degree (Associates, Bachelors, or Post-Secondary degrees) or continuing education.

 

  • General Lawson Memorial Scholarship open to dependent or spouse of Iowa National Guard Member (current or retired).  For applicants persuing a licensure program, certificate program, CEUs, non degree education.

Applicants can not reapply if they have already received an INGOAux Scholarship in the past.

Applicants will need:

High School Transcripts, Acceptance Letter (if applicable), List of Activities and Work,  answer to Essay Question, Guard Member Verification, and Letter of Recommendation - all details are provided on the application form.

Scholarship Applicants are judged on Essay, Work, Activities, Leadership Positions, GPA, Test Scores, and Letter of Recommendation. 

*Incomplete applications will not be judged.

2018 Scholarship recipients

Rachel Mosinksi, daughter of Lt. Col. Don & Jennifer Moskinski.  She will be attending Simpson College in the fall and working towards a Bachelor's Degree.

Sydney Hedgepeth, daughter of Ret. Col. Robert & Sallie Hedgepeth.  She will be attending Iowa State University in the fall.

Grayson McCoid, daughter  of Lt. Col Corey & Tonia McCoid.  She will be attending Emmaus Bible College in the fall.

Issabelle Acheson is the daughter of Col. Travis & Brooke Acheson.  She will be attending Texas Christian University in the fall and studying environmental science or biology.
