2020 Scholarships are now open - Deadline is February 1st, 2020

Each year the Iowa National Guard Officers Auxiliary has the opportunity to award deserving students and a spouse of a guardsman with a scholarship.


Scholarships - please read to see which one applies to you:

  • Student Scholarship open to dependents of an Iowa National Guard Member (current or retired). Student Applicants need to be a graduating senior or incoming freshman, and pursuing a 2 or 4 year degree or a certificate program.

  • Spouse Scholarship open to current spouse of a Iowa National Guard Member (current or retired). May be used for any degree (Associates, Bachelors, or Post-Secondary degrees) or continuing education.

Applicants can not reapply if they have already received an INGOAux Scholarship in the past.

Applicants will need:

High School Transcripts, Acceptance Letter (if applicable), List of Activities and Work,  answer to Essay Question, Guard Member Verification, and Letter of Recommendation - all details are provided on the application form.

Scholarship Applicants are judged on Essay, Work, Activities, Leadership Positions, GPA, Test Scores, and Letter of Recommendation. 

*Incomplete applications will not be scored.

2019 Scholarship Recipients

Katharine S. Jackovich, daughter of CW4 Vince and Denise Jackovich. She plants to attend Iowa State University in the Fall to study Elementary Education.  

Carrigan R. McCoid, daughter of LTC Corey McCoid and Tonia McCoid.  She plants to attend Faith Baptist Bible College or DMACC in the Fall.  

Jacob H Claus, son of LTC Brian and Tina Claus. He plans to attend Iowa State University and study mechanical engineering with a focus on aerospace engineering. 

Faith L. Klein, daughter of Major Christopher and Dana Klein. This Fall she will be attending Iowa State University and plans to study accounting. 

Kelly E. Selof, daughter of Retired LTC Gary and Tracy Selof. She plans to attend DMACC in the Fall.  

Spouse Scholarship has been awarded to Kayla Jacobs, wife of SPC Steven Jacobs.   She is currently attending the University of Iowa to obtain her MBA.

2018 Scholarship recipients

Rachel Mosinksi, daughter of Lt. Col. Don & Jennifer Moskinski.  She will be attending Simpson College in the fall and working towards a Bachelor's Degree.

Sydney Hedgepeth, daughter of Ret. Col. Robert & Sallie Hedgepeth.  She will be attending Iowa State University in the fall.

Grayson McCoid, daughter  of Lt. Col Corey & Tonia McCoid.  She will be attending Emmaus Bible College in the fall.

Issabelle Acheson is the daughter of Col. Travis & Brooke Acheson.  She will be attending Texas Christian University in the fall and studying environmental science or biology.
